DuPont State Forest - NC Waterfall Fantasyland - Part 1 January 17, 2015 08:16 1 Comment

An avid hiker, watercolor artist & photographer, I constantly seek out inspiring places to
paint, photograph & share. One of those places is DuPont State Recreational Forest
located southeast of Brevard, NC. More than 10,400 acres to explore, on nearly 90 miles
of trails & roads, open to hiking, biking & horseback riding. There are lakes, forest
coves, granite dome mountain trails & six outstanding waterfall hikes. This series of
blogs is all about the Fantasyland Waterfalls.  Hike at your own risk & be aware that
your experience may vary.

I had wondered about Dupont Forest for a long time before I was able to hike here. This trail
was incredibly easy which accounts for the fact that you will probably never be alone
anytime you visit. It's easy access has made it extremely popular with swimmers, waders
and fishermen.

Conclusion & Recommendation

Great place for family picnic. You must visit Hooker Falls in DuPont State Forest.

It's free and open year-round from 5 AM  until 10 PM daily. What are you waiting for?
